Myoovi 2.0 vs V1: Is the Heat Function Worth £20 More?

Myoovi now sells two versions of its wearable TENS device side by side: the original V1 at £59.99 and the 2.0 at £79.99. The store describes the 2.0 as “everything you loved about the original and makes it even better”, which is marketing rather than a spec sheet. We pulled both product pages and the pad listings from myoovi.co.uk on 4 September 2026 to set out what the extra £20 buys, what it locks you into, and which device the 60-day guarantee makes the safer first purchase.

✓ Buy the 2.0 if warmth is part of how you already manage cramps (hot-water bottle, heat patches). TENS plus heat in one wearable is the whole point of the upgrade, and the 30 intensity levels and USB-C charging are genuine quality-of-life gains.
✓ Buy the V1 if you have never used TENS and want the cheapest way to find out whether it works for you. Same 60-day trial, same £15 pads, same one-year warranty, £20 less.
✗ Know the lock-in. 2.0 pads have a different connector and built-in heating elements, so they do not fit the V1 and V1 pads do not fit the 2.0. Whichever you choose, you are choosing its pad supply too.

What heat adds, and what owners say about it
TENS works by sending small electrical pulses through the gel pad to interrupt pain signals; heat works differently, relaxing the abdominal muscles that are cramping. Combining them in one pad is the reason to pay £20 more, and for people who already reach for a hot-water bottle it is an obvious win: the 2.0 is wireless and sits under clothes, so you get the warmth while moving around.
The caveat is in the reviews. In the Trustpilot feedback we read for our main review, the most common criticism of the 2.0 specifically concerned the heat — either that it was milder than expected or that it was not noticeable at lower settings. Nobody should expect a plug-in heat pad’s temperature from a battery-powered wearable; if you do, you will be disappointed. If you think of the heat as a gentle background warmth on top of the TENS, the reviews are considerably kinder.
Running cost: identical, but not interchangeable
Both devices consume the same thing at the same price: a £15 set of two Butterfly pads that the brand says last 20–30 uses each. A user who applies the device daily for five days a cycle gets roughly four to six cycles from a set, so £30–45 a year in pads is a fair estimate for either version. The pad subscription (deliver every 1–4 months) does not change the £15 price; it just automates it.
What differs is compatibility. The 2.0 pads carry the heating element and use a new connection, and Myoovi’s own FAQ states they are not compatible with the original device. If a friend has spare V1 pads, they are no use to a 2.0 owner, and vice versa. Over three years the pad cost is the same; the choice is only about which pad supply you are tied to.

Myoovi’s bundles pair a device with its supplements: the Endo Bundle (£88.64, list £154.99), Endo Pain Bundle (device + MyEndo, £94.98) and Ultimate Endo Bundle (device + MyEndo + MyDebloat, £129.97). The supplements are returnable only unopened, whereas the device carries the 60-day use-it-and-return-it guarantee. How to decide in one minute
