Fraté Maté Flavours Guide: All 15 Tea Bags Ranked, Plus Loose Leaf and Coffret Prices

Fraté Maté’s catalogue runs to 70 products, but most of it is the same yerba maté in different formats: 15 flavours in pre-dosed tea bags, most of them again as 500 g loose leaf, and a dozen coffrets that bundle leaves with a gourd and bombilla. The flavours all cost the same, so the store gives you no price signal about which to pick. This guide sorts them by how you would actually use them, using product data pulled from fratemateclub.com on 4 September 2026.

✓ First box: Original bio or Menthe bio, 30 bags for €14.90. Original is the reference point for the leaf itself; Menthe is the flavour the brand puts in its own Premium and Gold coffrets, which tells you it is the crowd-pleaser.
✓ Best starter kit: Coffret Énergie, €54.22 (list €67.78). Three 100 g loose-leaf flavours (Gingembre, Harmonie, Stevia) plus gourd, bombilla and brush, and it clears the €55 free-delivery threshold on its own once you add a €3.39 brush or any bag.
✗ Skip the 90-bag box until you have tasted the flavour. It saves €0.05 a cup (€0.45 vs €0.50) but opened maté cannot be returned, so a wrong guess costs €40.

The 15 tea-bag flavours, sorted by use
Every bag flavour is priced identically: €14.90 for 30 (€0.50 a cup), €28.31 for 60 (list €29.80) and €40.23 for 90 (list €44.70, €0.45 a cup). The brand describes all of them as Brazilian-grown leaf packed in Provence. Here is how they group:

Ten of the fifteen carry the organic label; Cola, Pêche, Açaï, Vanille and Chocolat do not, which matters if organic is why you chose Fraté over the €9.99 Argentinian brands it also sells. Note the Harmonie rename: if you bought “Détox” before, it is the same product.
Loose leaf: price per 100 g
Most bag flavours also come as loose leaf for a gourd or French press. The per-100 g price is where Fraté’s own leaf and the imported brands separate:

Per cup, loose leaf is cheaper than bags however you brew it — a gourd uses far more leaf per serving than a bag, but a French press at 5–8 g per cup puts Fraté Original around €0.15–0.24 a cup against €0.50 for a bag. You pay for the bag’s convenience, not the leaf.

Bought separately, a Calebasse Tio is €29.99, a bombilla €12.99 and a brush €3.39 — €46.37 before any leaf — so every coffret from Énergie upwards is cheaper than assembling it yourself. The Découverte Express is the odd one out: at €76.22 for 120 bags plus a mini gourd, the bags alone would cost €59.60, so you are paying about €16 for the €14.99 mini gourd and straw. Fair, not a bargain.

Frequently asked questions
Which Fraté Maté flavour has the most caffeine?
The brand does not publish caffeine figures. Guarana is the only flavour that adds a second caffeine source (guarana seed), so it is the logical pick for a coffee replacement.
Are all Fraté Maté flavours organic?
No. Ten are labelled bio; Cola, Pêche, Açaï, Vanille and Chocolat are not.
Is the 90-bag box worth it?
It cuts the cup price from €0.50 to €0.45 and ships free on its own. Buy it only for a flavour you have already tried, because opened maté cannot be returned.
